Street Kings did decent damage at the box office but it's at DVD where urban action movies like these tend to do well. Here is the brand new DVD art courtesy of 20th Century Fox. You will notice The Game and Common get their own little section on the box complete with machine guns in hand. Street Kings comes to DVD on August 19th.
The Game has teamed up with music social networking site imeem.com for a unique "Tattoo The Game" contest. Contestants can submit their "LAX" tattoo design here where The Game will choose the best art and get it tattooed somewhere on his body. The Game will choose the winner and get the tattoo done before the July 22nd release date of his album "LAX."
I know The Game is all about Los Angeles pride but I live near LAX Airport and everyone knows it's one of the crappiest airports around. He should have named his album Best Buy. The one in West LA kicks ass. This is the first tee that The Game will release in conjunction with his upcoming "LAX" album. He will continue to release more official "LAX" apparel closer to street date.
The Game has officially launched his new social network at ThisIzGame.Ning.com. So now you can join Game's social network where you can get the latest info on his next album "LAX", The Black Wall Street crew and the latest urban gossip. Still not clear what the site is about? Well...just go to ThisIs50.com and pretend you are on Game's site since they are basically the same thing. Look out for ThisBeYeti.com coming soon!
Tons of hip-hop artists are launching their own networking websites to get a piece of that advertising revenue and greater control of their content, but The Game's new site ThisIzGame.com is a clear rip-off (in name) of 50's ThisIs50.com. It will be interesting to see what Game's site looks like when it is fully launched. At least now you can tell that there are only 63 more days until "LAX" comes out! 50 should release an album called "LaGuardia Airport" to get even.
WoooHah.com has received two exclusive photos of The Game from the upcoming police thriller Street Kings. First photo shown above is The Game who plays a Los Angeles gang banger named Grill who gets thrown into jail by Keanu Reeves who plays a cop. I'm sure this photo would be similar to what he is experiencing in jail right now. Love the guy in the background mopping the floor. Next photo (after the jump) is just a closeup of The Game showing off his infamous LA and Compton face tats. Street Kings comes out in theaters April 11th.

No this is not a real-life photo of The Game being escorted to prison by Keanu Reeves. Considering The Game was just sentenced to two months in prison on gun charges two days ago, this first official photo of him from Street Kings is quite ironic. Needless to say, Game looks like he been on the Barry Bonds...wait no...Roger Clemens work out plan in this pic. Either that or he got lots of layers underneath that shirt.

20th Century Fox has just provided us the official movie poster for the upcoming police crime thriller Street Kings starring Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker, The Game and Common. We have been following this movie pretty close and will have more updates, photos and details about it in the coming days. Check out the trailer here. Movie comes out April 11th.
Just when I was thinking to myself "There hasn't been a (present day) gritty urban street film in awhile"...then comes Street Kings, from the guys who did Training Day and starring Forest Whitaker, Keanu Reeves, Common and The Game. From the trailer, this movie looks pretty damn gritty and looks like they are trying to give it a "real" edge exploring the streets of Los Angeles...I mean they don't even try and cover The Game's "LA" face tattoo. They probably gave him the role because of that tat and his experience in jail. And yes, there is plenty of Common shooting the place up as well. Let me know what you think of the trailer.
