As we mentioned back in March, Snoop Dogg will be making an appearance on his favorite soap opera "One Life To Live" in today and tomorrow's episodes. Snoop has a couple of speaking lines but will also be performing "Sensual Seduction." This is an excerpt from a behind-the-scenes preview, but you can watch the entire 8 min. video here. "One Life To Live" has been very urban music friendly as Mary J. Blige and Timbaland have both made past appearances.
Snoop Dogg now joins the ranks of other hip-hop elite who have liquor deals as he has recently signed an endorsement deal with Landy Cognac. Landy calls itself the "new generation of Cognac" and in an effort to reach the younger "hipper" demo have enlisted Snoop for promotional efforts. This month has already seen a huge wave of hip-hop and consumer product partnerships including Dr. Pepper and Flavor Flav, Pepsi and their relaunched DJ Division and of course TAG body spray and Jermaine Dupri. We can only expect more to come in the future as Corporate America realizes the branding potential behind hip-hop and its artists. Via: Luxist & Prohiphop
Snoop Dogg lends his voice as...a talking dog with attitude in a series of new Mariah Carey promo ads for her upcoming album E=MC2. The series of ads airs exclusively on MTV and can be seen throughout various programming on the MTV network. Mariah is definitely pimping herself out on MTV these days. She has shown up on everything from "The Hills" specials to TRL. But as long as she keeps lookin' like she do then I ain't complaining.
The soap opera "One Live To Live" sure loves their urban music. Mary J. Blige appeared on the show in February and sang songs off her "Growing Pains" album and Timbaland appeared on the show last September as well. But nothing will top the D-O-Double-G as he makes a guest appearance on the May 8th and 9th episodes of the long running soap opera and also remixes the "One Life To Live" theme song.
"I've been a fan of `One Life to Live' since I was a baby," said
Snoop, who will perform "Sensual Seduction" and "Life of Da Party.""My momma always had it on the tube in tha crib growing up. The
opportunity to change up the theme song and give it some of my flavor
will make the show the Life of The Party." (Source)
Related: Snoop Dogg cartoon coming to Comedy Central
Cable network Comedy Central just announced their 2008-2009 slate which will include an untitled Snoop Dogg cartoon project. From reality shows, to Snooper Markets, to his upcoming movie, Mr. Broadus has been doing his thing this past year. The cartoon project will be executive produced by Snoop and the production team responsible for Andre 3000's cartoon "Class of 3000." Cartoon will feature Snoop as a 15-year-old high school teen growing up in Long Beach during the 80's. Stay away from that chronic lil Snoop! No word yet on when the pilot episode will premiere but of course we will keep you posted! Via: Billboard
What you think? Does a Snoop Dogg cartoon about his teenage years sound like a good idea or will this die out faster than a Kriss Kross gangster rap album?
Snoop Dogg is tonight's guest on CNN's "Larry King Live." Like with a lot of Larry's guests, we get a candid, real look at the interviewee including Snoop's views on Obama vs. Hillary, his family life and future plans in entertainment. Show airs tonight (Friday) on CNN 9pm ET and 6pm PT. I was fortunate enough to already see the interview and it is one of the most entertaining but real looks at Snoop.
Although he usually plays "Snoop Dogg" in the public eye, there were moments where he let his guard down, spoke with real sincerity and you could actually see Calvin Broadus.
But then he got classic lines like when Larry asks him what political party he supports, Snoop replies "I'm not down with the Republic Party or the Democratic Party. I'm down with The Gangsta Party." That's classic right there. Check out the video here of Snoop taking Larry to Roscoe's (one of my favorites although Honey's Kettle and M&M's is good stuff too) and another video clip after the jump of Snoop discussing politics with Larry.

Snoop is all about the business there days. First his Snoop Dogg dog products that he released in October 2007 shown here and now in a recent MTV.com interview Snoop says he is planning to launch a new clothing label. But the big news is that Snoop is also planning to open a chain of grocery stores called "Snoopermarkets." I believe this would be the first ever hip-hop artist owned grocery store. I hear it will have a snooper good produce section...the best weed on the block. He should probably buy a fast-food joint as well. "Would you like Snooper-sized fries with that?" Or maybe a new Toyota car line. The Toyota Snoopra.
According to Nielsen TV ratings, Snoops' premiere episode of "Fatherhood" achieved a 1.71Nielsen household rating on E!. What does this mean? E! is happy with the results as it bested the newest episode of "The Girls Next Door." In cable ratings, "Fatherhood" had a solid start topping E!'s four-week average in the time slot during the last four weeks by 22%.
Although The Snoop Dogg Youth Football League is currently facing a lawsuit regarding exclusive footage rights of the league, Coach Snoop, the family-friendly comedy starring Snoop Dogg is still all-systems-go. The film has been in development since 2004, but as the writers of the family comedies The Wild and Snow Dogs finish up the script and as the popularity of Snoop's football league and his new reality show emerge, Coach Snoop is primed for a 2008 release date.
