Hallmark has released a Salt 'N Pepa greeting card set to their famed single "Push It." Right now the theme of the card is set for Mothers Day but will change
according to the holiday season. I sent this card to my mom this past
weekend. She thought it was funny. Until she realized I paid $1.99 for
it. Then she thought I was stupid.
Seattle based Manik Skateboards and famed photographer Craig Wetherby have collaborated for an exclusive line of skateboard decks and tees featuring hip-hop stars such as Method Man, Ghostface and Slick Rick. Each board will retail for $60 and will be available at select boutique shops worldwide in
conjunction with a world gallery tour that starts this month exhibiting Wetherby's

This was supposed to be an easy round for the Pistons, but instead they find themselves in Game 6 tonight vs. the Sixers. I know all you NBA fans have seen this new "There Can Only Be One" split heads ad campaign put on by The NBA. Even though I'm from Los Angeles, this one with Rip and Iguodala is my favorite. The One Republic song "Apologize" works well in the background. My team is the Sonics so I don't really have a favorite in the playoffs. I guess...go Lakers? At least Durant won Rookie of the Year.
Diddy shows his love for his hometown as part of the New York City Tourism board's recent ad campaign entitled "Ask The Locals." Other celebs in the campaign include Kevin Bacon, Lindsay Price and Matt Lauer. An interesting assortment of people if you ask me. Ludacris and famed Southeast Asian chef Chris Yeo talk about their new Atlanta restaurant Straits in a recent interview with The Atlanta Sunday Paper. In the interview Luda talks about how he met Yeo and the whole concept of how an Atlanta based Southeast Asian restaurant came to be. Yeo currently owns three other Straits Restaurants in California. TMZ reports that Pharrell and Kanye were at LAX this morning flying to Arizona...on Southwest Airlines. They were here of course for the Glow in the Dark Tour and Pharrell also showed up at the opening of the new BAPE store. Usually I don't report on "gossip" type news but this is just amusing to me. Not because they are cheap, but because I hear they didn't even get seated in Section A. Diss!! If you want to find them in Arizona I'm sure they are staying at the Motel 6. Didn't you hear? Cheap is the new expensive now.
Marvel Comics and Technics turntables have teamed together to create a limited edition series of Technics tees featuring Marvel characters cutting it up on the 1's and 2's. Each tee goes for $50, is limited edition numbered and available at DMC World. Word is 50 Cent has asked Iron Man to join G-Unit so they can work on a new mixtape together. RZA is hosting another big chess event in the Bay Area this month as part of the Hip-Hop Chess Federation. But rather than a straight up chess tournament like last time, this month's even called "Mind Over Matter" features the interesting combination of martial arts grappling and chess. Artists that will be at the April 12th event in Menlo Park include RZA, Dilated Peoples, Hieroglyphics and Prince Ali. Check out the flyer for details.
