Kanye West will be performing and saying a few endorsement words at the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Casio G-Shock watch later today in New York. Fans have been waiting a long time for any updates on Kanye's long awaited Pastelle clothing line. Finally some more news. One of the first items that Kanye will release under Pastelle is a line of sunglasses (shown above) in collaboration with Australian designers Ksubi. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the sunglasses "will feature limited-edition gold frames, which will sell for about $2000" and will be designed by George Gorrow. I assume the majority of us didn't get to catch the Kanye West, NERD show in Hong Kong a couple weeks ago that celebrated Bathing Ape's fashion line. Here is a nice little piece from MTV Japan that highlights the show including Kanye not throwing a fit and walking off stage. Warning: contains gratuitous Ice Cream and BBC shots.
TMZ reports that Pharrell and Kanye were at LAX this morning flying to Arizona...on Southwest Airlines. They were here of course for the Glow in the Dark Tour and Pharrell also showed up at the opening of the new BAPE store. Usually I don't report on "gossip" type news but this is just amusing to me. Not because they are cheap, but because I hear they didn't even get seated in Section A. Diss!! If you want to find them in Arizona I'm sure they are staying at the Motel 6. Didn't you hear? Cheap is the new expensive now.
To the rejoice of sneaker heads round the globe, Kanye posted the first image of his Nike Air Yeezy sneaker on his blog today. This is the same sneaker that Kanye designed and wore at the Grammy's and developed at Nike HQ's in Oregon. While the super group Child Rebel Soldiers (Kanye, Pharrell, Lupe) don't have an album yet, they already have a t-shirt and now this new one shown here. Although they kinda look like Vietnamese during the Nam War. You will notice the distinct details such as Kanye's famous sneakers and the fact that they are draped in BAPE clothing. Via: Dr. Jays
The online sneaker community was buzzing after Kanye's Grammy's performance last month in which he wore what appeared to be a custom pair of Nike Airs shown here. While there have been many false alarms to a Kanye West Nike signature shoe, more recent evidence suggests that the Nike Air Kanye West will soon be a reality and not an exclusive one of one.
As many sneaker sites have reported, Kanye recently told the NY Times "I had on a pair of Nikes too, but I can’t talk about those because they’re not out yet.” And then we have this photo above of Kanye sketching away at shoe designs while on the Nike Air Jet flying out Nike headquarters in Oregon. If Kanye was just designing a custom shoe he could have gone to the Los Angeles Nike studios called Room 72. Going all the way to headquarters in Oregon can only mean one thing....
What you think? If Kanye does have a signature Nike shoe he would be the first Nike non athlete with a signature shoe line. Is this the right move for Nike?

Available in four colors with some featuring suede uppers, the CL Low features Kanye's signature Kanye Bear insignia on the side heel of each sneaker. Check out the rest of the colors after the jump. Now that he is done winning all them awards at last night's Grammy Awards, Kanye West can get back to concentrating on his long-awaited fashion line Pastelle. I believe it has been 2+ years and counting that his official Pastelle website has had the "Coming Soon" message on it. Well now looks like there is some progress as Kanye has apparently signed on famed British mens fashion designer Kim Jones. Jones has worked with all the major players including Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss and his own collections as well. Still no date on the official launch but hopefully that Pastelle website can actually be updated this year.
Kanye West has just posted excerpts from his upcoming book called "Thank You and You're Welcome" on his official site. The book is now available for pre-sell
on Kanye's site for only $10 and the first 500 will be autographed.
Smart move on his end, since the book is self published Kanye won't
have to split the revenues with a book publishing firm. It is due to come out some time this month. Check out the excerpts after the jump.
