?uestlove to star with John Legend in "Soul Men"
?uestlove, the famed drummer of The Roots has confirmed that he will have a role in the upcoming Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac film Soul Men which as we reported last week will also star John Legend. In an interview with IndyWeek.com ?uestlove states "I am working on a film project, and it'll be starring Sam Jackson and Bernie Mac. It's a musical film by Malcolm Lee (The Best Man, Roll Bounce). Since it's a musical film, I won't be straying too far afield in terms of my role."
Although he does not get into specifics of his role, WoooHah.com can exclusively reveal that ?uestlove plays, you guessed it, a drummer and band member of the music group that Jackson, Legend and Mac's characters were all once part of. Soul Men comes out in theaters October 10, 2008. Props to Clyde for the heads up.
