Eminem almost cast for lead role in "Jumper"

Eminem_jumper
According to the director of the movie Jumper which just came out in theaters yesterday, Eminem was actually considered for the lead role that was eventually given to Hayden Christensen. Doug Liman director of Jumper and other fast paced action films such as Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity states "We did have a meeting. We did have conversations with Eminem. [The idea to meet with the rapper] was sort of coming from the producer and [Eminem's] manager," remembered the director.

Of course the role eventually went to Christensen of Star Wars fame and in the meantime Eminem completley disappeared from the Hollywood scene. This is the second film in the past couple weeks that we have learned Eminem was in talks with. The other being the heavily rumored Grand Theft Auto - The Movie. Personally I thought Eminem did a decent job on 8 Mile and wouldn't mind seeing him play a different character. Of course we also wouldn't mind another album coming out. Come on Em don't catch the Dr. Dre "Detox" disease!

"Grand Theft Auto" movie almost happened with Eminem

Eminem_grand_theft_auto
According to reports by The Variety, a Grand Theft Auto - The Movie was pitched to Rockstar, the video game producers, last spring with Eminem attached as the lead. Like Halo and Warcraft, Grand Theft Auto is considered one of the premiere projects for a movie studio to land...but just like those games, it has been met with difficulty bringing to film. But apparently the Grand Theft Auto - The Movie was all set to go as a major film company (my guess is Universal) had finally convinced Rockstar...but at the 11th hour Rockstar had pulled out of the deal.

Whatever the reasons, the project was stopped and currently there are no plans for a Grand Theft Auto movie. And considering Eminem's current state, we can all but assume he wouldn't be ready for the big screen yet anyways. Eminem also had various projects with Paramount under his Shady/Aftermath Films banner indefintiely postponed as well.

Slim-Fast wants partnership with Slim Shady

Eminem_slimfast_2
I can see it now. As I'm flipping through my favorite magazine I come across this ad touting the new partnership between Slim-Fast and Eminem aka Slim Shady and the new revolutionary Slim-Shady-Fast diet plan. This is closer to reality than people might think. According to OK! Magazine, Slim-Fast has offered to help Eminem lose weight after the news leaked out that Eminem has ballooned to over 200lbs. due to various health issues.

"Slim-Fast is a program that can really work for someone like Eminem; it's a doable and flexible approach," Slim-Fast reps told OK!. "Slim-fast would love to offer Eminem product and assistance to help him become a potential S-F success story." Eminem nor his people have responded to Slim-Fast.

Eminem's mother writes a "tell-all" book

Eminem_book
While Eminem has kept out of the spot light since the passing of Proof, his mother is now stepping into the spotlight and has written a "tell-all" book called "My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem." I'm assuming the "tell-all" part of the book is about her son Marshall's bouts with depression and not about her secret famed Mathers tuna casserole.

A family friend tells Life&Style magazine, "She just hopes he'll read it and realize how loved he is. She fears she'll end up burying him unless he gets help... We all see him teetering on the edge of self-destruction."
