Shoot...I've been covering this movie for way too long. Well now it's finally coming out this week and I'm hoping for big things. Luckily for me I already saw Street Kings but speaking the truth here, I liked it so much I plan on going back to see it this weekend. Check out this inside look provided by Fox called "Heirs To The Throne." Common and the director give us an inside look into the gritty side of the film. Street Kings opens in theaters this weekend.
The cast of the upcoming crime thriller Street Kings recently held their press day. Here Common, who plays a big-time Los Angeles drug dealer, and Cedric The Entertainer talk about their roles in the movie and other interesting topics such as dirty cops and of course Obama. Street Kings comes out in theaters April 11th...
Common announced his partnership with the Lincoln Navigator back in November of last year which included this TV ad that has been around for a bit now. This is a first look at Common's upcoming print campaign with the Navigator as well. These ads will be featured in one page and two page spreads with the Navigator shown in publications such as Complex Magazine and other lifestyle and auto pubs as well. They are definitely going for the "feel good" influence that Common is most known for. If you want to see his darker side, make sure to see Street Kings on April 11th where he plays a hardcore drug dealer.
No this is not a real-life photo of The Game being escorted to prison by Keanu Reeves. Considering The Game was just sentenced to two months in prison on gun charges two days ago, this first official photo of him from Street Kings is quite ironic. Needless to say, Game looks like he been on the Barry Bonds...wait no...Roger Clemens work out plan in this pic. Either that or he got lots of layers underneath that shirt.
Check out more pics including Common after the jump and the official movie poster here that was just released late yesterday by 20th Century Fox. Street Kings is due out in theaters April 11th. This means if The Game gets out of jail early for good behavior he can celebrate at the premiere.

After months and months of speculation, Common has finally verbally confirmed to MTV that he will be playing The Green Lantern in the recently postponed Justice League of America movie. Rumors around Hollywood were that Common was always the leading candidate but that Tyrese was in the running as well. Now we can finally put this issue to rest. “It’s a blessing really, to know that I could potentially be this
superhero,” Common told MTV. “Justice League itself is an honor, and Green
Lantern is an incredible character to play. It’s a blessing to be
associated with it.”
As we reported last month, the Justice League of America film crew was busy in Australia getting ready for pre-production when the plug was pulled on the project by Warner Brothers. Some speculate it is due to the WGA Writer's Strike but there have been
rumors of script revisions, casting issues and even tax issues with
filming in Australia. Regardless, the film will still be made but it's just a question of when. And at least the strike is just about over. In the meantime there will be no shortage of Common in theaters as he is starring in the police crime thriller Street Kings in April and the action film Wanted in June.

Just when I was thinking to myself "There hasn't been a (present day) gritty urban street film in awhile"...then comes Street Kings, from the guys who did Training Day and starring Forest Whitaker, Keanu Reeves, Common and The Game. From the trailer, this movie looks pretty damn gritty and looks like they are trying to give it a "real" edge exploring the streets of Los Angeles...I mean they don't even try and cover The Game's "LA" face tattoo. They probably gave him the role because of that tat and his experience in jail. And yes, there is plenty of Common shooting the place up as well. Let me know what you think of the trailer. We will have more insider information in the near future found only at WoooHah.com!
