Akon releases new book "Thug Politics"

Akon_book
Your favorite underage-teen-humping star Akon will be releasing a new book called "Thug Politics" that will ironically be released under C Murder's book publishing group Tru Publishing. I just wonder why C Murder, who is a convicted murderer, has a book company. "Thug Politics" will be about Akon's life growing up and will be due out in stores this April or May. Look for it in your local bookstore in the "Thug" section next to "Children's Books" and "Religion." Via: Highbrid Nation

Excerpts from Kayne West's upcoming book

Kanye_west_book
Kanye West has just posted excerpts from his upcoming book called "Thank You and You're Welcome" on his official site. The book is now available for pre-sell on Kanye's site for only $10 and the first 500 will be autographed. Smart move on his end, since the book is self published Kanye won't have to split the revenues with a book publishing firm. It is due to come out some time this month. Check out the excerpts after the jump.

Exclusive: A Look at Ghostface Killa's book "The World According to Pretty Toney"

Pretty_toney
WoooHah.com has been fortunate to get a look at Ghostface Killah's much talked about book "The World According To Pretty Toney." The hardcover book contains the words of wisdom that only Ghostface Killah's alter-ego Pretty Toney can deliver. It's a quick read and more like a coffee table book...but it is definitely one that EVERY hip-hop head should have displayed at their house and for everyone who wants to keep it hood. Some of the funniest stuff I have ever read.

Eminem's mother writes a "tell-all" book

Eminem_book
While Eminem has kept out of the spot light since the passing of Proof, his mother is now stepping into the spotlight and has written a "tell-all" book called "My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem." I'm assuming the "tell-all" part of the book is about her son Marshall's bouts with depression and not about her secret famed Mathers tuna casserole.

A family friend tells Life&Style magazine, "She just hopes he'll read it and realize how loved he is. She fears she'll end up burying him unless he gets help... We all see him teetering on the edge of self-destruction."

Wu-Tang Clan graphic novel in the works

Method_man_graphic_novel
Sanford Greene, current artist for the DC Comic "Wonder Girl" and the artist of MF Doom's "Venemous Villain" cover art is now working on a Wu-Tang Clan graphic novel with the help of Method Man. No details on plot, dates, etc. but considering the current state of Wu-Tang let's hope its not a Ghostface and Raekwon vs. RZA battle. I would much rather see the Wu fighting together on the same side vs. the evil forces of The Taliban, Osama Bin Laden or Kimora Lee Simmons. Check out an early concept drawing of Method Man along with some of Sanford's awesome art after the jump.

Kanye announces new book "Thank You and You're Welcome"

Kanye_west_book_2

Kanye West announced on his official blog that he will be coming out with a book by the end of this year called "Thank You and You're Welcome." It will be available for pre-sell on Kanye's site for only $10 and the first 500 will be autographed. Smart move on his end, since the book is self published Kanye won't have to split the revenues with a book publishing firm. In his own words, Kanye says...

"It's dope....10 bucks. I teamed up with co-author J. Sakiya Sandifer to make my literary debut with Thank You And You're Welcome!, an entertaining volume of "Kanye-isms "-- the creative, humorous and insightful philosophies and anecdotes used in creating my path to success. It captures the same wit, playful irony, and piercing insight found abundant in my lyrics. In Thank You And You're Welcome I deliver my personal message uncensored, without any five-second delay or media distortion. I'll post some sample pages within a week..."

Kanye's co-writer J. Sakiya Sandifer is also well recognized in the publishing and creative industry as an uplifting and positive force where he also does corporate motivational speeches. He is also head of the company We Think, LLC. I am surprised Kanye didn't release this book last week when 50 Cent released his new book "50x50."

50 Cent's new book has a lot of pictures and words

50x50
Amazon lists this book as an autobiography by 50 Cent. That would explain why the book has a lot of pictures and easy math problems such as 50 x 50. In stores now, "50 X 50" is a look inside the mind of 50 Cent and includes personal essays ("Dear G-Unit. I hate The Game. The End."), illustrations (probably of the G-Unit logo), family photos, song lyrics and even old school mix tape covers before he was shot.

So basically 50 emptied the contents of his top dresser drawer (you know the drawer where you just dump random crap) and he turned it into a book. Dude is genius. I would do the same thing except the only things in my top dresser drawer is my authentic 1980's G.I. Joe collection including Cobra Commander, Duke and Snake Eyes...and no WAY am I stapling those into a book. Because I can't. You can't staple action figures into a book. It's impossible.

Ghostface with new book written in English, not Ghostfacian

Gfk
There are only two things I love more than The Wu-Tang Clan, ice cream and Jessica Alba. And I can't get either...one because I'm lactose intolerant, two because she's a ho (not like I would have a chance anyways but a boy can dream).

But at least all my Wu-Tang dreams can come true. Their new album and GFK's new album coming out later this year, and now MTV Press has just announced that they are releasing a book by Ghostface called "The World According To Pretty Tony" which is based off a series of short videos he did for MTV2. Coming out on Nov. 1st of this year, the book will include a CD of Ghostface reading along to the book. It's good they didn't release this as a book-on-tape because I don't know if any human being can understand and comprehend more than 50% of what any Wu-Tang member says. They speak on a higher level....which makes them even more awesome.

Official release details as follows:
"For all y’all smart dumb cats out there." Legendary Hip Hop artist, Ghostface Killah, settles into one of his most popular characters "Pretty Toney" and offers readers a hilariously unique perspective on life via guides to and advice on everything from sex to gambling, family to education, even how to eat on just $5 a day, better known as The Hustler’s Diet. A singular twist on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People for the hip hop generation complete with illustrative photos. Born as a series of shorts on MTV2, Pretty Toney and his musings quickly became a channel and online hit, with fans uploading the shorts on YouTube and circulating them virally. The book will also include a CD of Ghostface reading the material, the perfect accompaniment to enjoying the book.

Update on Jermaine Dupri's new book

Jd
As we announced two months ago, Jermaine Dupri has been busy getting ready for the launch of his new book "Young, Rich and Dangerous" which comes out next Monday. I thought the book would be about Jermaine's personal accounts of living life as a Small Person (I believe that is the correct terminology) but apparently he writes about stuff such as his rise to fame, finding talent (Kris Kross, Bow Wow), and his relationship with Michael..I mean Janet Jackson.

The publisher has recently released an excerpt from his book. It's pretty clear that he had help writing this because...well...you can understand it. It's actually pretty interesting because he talks about Kris Kross...anything about Kris Kross is interesting. To read the excerpt head to the publisher site.

Another Tupac book...probably written by Tupac

Tupac_2
A new book comes out January 3, 2008 called "Tupac Remembered" and features contributions from fellow rappers such as E-40, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Common. The book was compiled with the participation and support of Tupac's family and written by one of his many friends who is trying to make a living off of him. Oh shoot. Did I just say that? The book cover is a little to upscale for me. It reminds me of a stamp.

Speaking of which...they should have a Tupac stamp. But wait...the U.S. Post Office only likes stamps of people who are dead. And I know for a fact Tupac is still alive. Why? Because I saw him last week. He was driving in a Kia Spectra through a Los Angeles Del Taco drive-thru. I spotted him and yelled "Tupac!" out of my car window. He then stuck his head out his car window, looked right at me and said "Shut the fu!K up before I kick your a$$." Turns out it was an Indian guy with a bald head...but still probably just Tupac in disguise...only the real Tupac would would disguise himself as a bald Indian man to try and keep his identity a secret.
