How Diddy keeps making money
One must applaud Diddy's business sense. Not only has his "Making the Band" show given him millions in producer and owner fees from MTV, but more important, the show allows Diddy to market whatever the heck he wants to millions of viewers for free...
For example, the Sean John shirt he is selling in this new video is a reference to the phrase he made in this season's "Making the Band." Genius. He could basically say "I love cats" is the cool thing to say on his show and then make a t-shirt that says "I love cats" and somehow, somewhere people buy it...
Diddy also announced that the next season of "Making the Band" will be about Danity Kayne, Day 26 and Donnie as they go on tour together. Of course money from albums isn't what it used to be, but put these guys on tour, throw in tour merch, and use the whole thing as the next season of the show...and Diddy's pocket's continue to fatten. The key to this is MTV is putting some major dollars in to support this tour which means less financial risk for Diddy. Ok last thing...D. Woods of Danity Kayne just signed on to be the spokesperson for the LRG fashion line Luxirie. Who brokered this deal? Yea you guessed right.
Diddy would have loved to push his Ciroc Vodka as well but due to MTV's stance and underaged targeting, he of course could not associate himself with pitching alcohol to minors. But if minors happen to get drunk and need a ride home...well Diddy is there for them too with his new car service! That's no b!tch a$$ness right therre! Oh Diddy...B.I.G. would be proud. Oh wait..you are getting a cut of Biggy's movie gross receipts too as exec producer. Don't hate...appreciate...the mark of a true biznass man. (Video Source)

At least him being good in business prevents him from recording another album. I dont like Diddy but yea I see ur point

Thats the only way an artist can survive these days. Market your own name.
